A panoramic view of the Prague Castle and Vltava River from the Aleš Embankment, Prague, Czech Republic. Significant visible landmarks include the Kafka Museum, St Nicholas Cathedral in the Lesser Town (large green dome behind the Kafka Museum sign), the Prague Castle (right half of the skyline) including the Theresian Wing with it's black roof, St Peters Cathedral, the pale spires of St George's Basilica, the Great Furstenburg Gardens (on the right, just below the Castle), and high on the hill on the far right, a portion of the St Wenceslas Vineyard. There are numerous visitors and tourists on the grounds of the Castle. This castle is reputed to be the largest and best preserved of the castles in Europe; the former capital of the Holy Roman Empire, it's origins can be traced back to about 880 AD.
